November 9th is Dr. Sagan’s birthday. He would be 76* today had we not lost him to cancer in 1996. Here are some suggestions from the Carl Sagan Day Facebook Page:
- eat apple pie,
- wear a red turtleneck and a brown jacket,
- don a fringe (bangs),
- watch the stars,
- sing whale songs,
- have billions of fun,
- use logic and reason,
- light a candle in the dark,
- check for dragons in your garage,
- chase away the demons that haunt the world…
- I’ll add- visit the Carl Sagan Portal who’s mission is “to awaken the broadest possible public to the wonders of nature as revealed by science.”

It’s getting wintry in the UK so I’m letting my garage dragon come indoors. Tea & crumpets !!!
Speaking of crumpets… have you noticed my personal email?
I’m pretty observant ~ that’s why I chose crumpets. Gotta go Reginald the dragon has polished his off already.
I will launch a golden record into space.

Very appropriate.
I wonder which record you will choose…

As you probably know, Carl Sagan chaired the committee that selected the contents of the record.
Would this have been a more honest golden record?
